As we are all aware now, there are three main symptoms we have to look out for when it comes to coronavirus. They are a high temperature, a new, continuous cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste.

Understandably, as people all over the world are worried about catching COVID-19, and one of the main initial symptoms is having a temperature.

There are a few different thermometers I recommend but this week I want to tell you about my Top 3

1. Omron Gentle Temp 720 Digital 3-in-1 Forehead Thermometer.

I absolutely love this thermometer, It’s so easy to use and it gives RELIABLE readings. I have been using it in my pharmacy to check customers are safe to come in. We have also sold loads of these to GP‘s, NHS clinics, dentists, opticians and many more.

One of the main things to look out for with a thermometer is reliability and quality. There is no point buying a cheap one off the internet if the readings are false. I listed these a few months ago and have had to wait ages to get them back in stock so if you want one be quick.

Importance of Monitoring Temperature

Fever is one of the most important vital body signs. We tend to think of normal body temperature as being around 37 degrees and, while this can vary slightly, it’s fairly accurate in most cases. Maintaining this temperature at a constant level is important to ensure effective operation of the brain, vital organs and main arteries.

What is a high temperature?

Normal body temperature is different for everyone and changes during the day.

A high temperature is usually considered to be 38C or above.

Contactless thermometer

Any significant rise in temperature usually indicates that the body’s immune system is defending itself against intruders, such as aggressive bacteria or viruses. Once the presence of a fever has been established, appropriate steps can quickly be taken to identify and eliminate the cause of the problem.

One of the reasons we love the Omron is its Easy to Use. It activates at the touch of a button, just hold the sensor 1-3 cm away from the surface you wish to measure, press the start button and you get a Reliable reading in one second
For the Whole Family

You can also point it at surfaces and food and it will tell you the temperature! Great for when I am cooking.

3. BRAUN Thermoscan 3 ear thermometer £40.00

This will undoubtably sell out very quickly as it always does and I am going to be receiving some Braun Thermoscan 3 £40.00 very soon which are another of my recommendations. I do prefer the Omron and the BRAUN 6515 personally but the Braun 3 is cheaper and still gives very reliable readings, very good quality and is an excellent product. Unfortunately, like the Omron they are so difficult to get hold of nowadays. Let me know which you prefer!
